The Humane Collective came into being with the conjecture of 20 years of academic design experimentation + professional practice at Lemon Design and 70 years of social enterprise at Bhuttico and The Wool Knitters. We are inspired by each other’s honesty, the ethics that enabled this partnership and a deep-rooted meticulous work culture. Passionate about everything natural - this alliance brings modern ideas of design and artisanal ways of shaping them with communities that have spent generations to acquire.

There’s no limit to what 500 pairs of hands can achieve. We're proof of it.
The Woolknitters represent the craftsmanship of over 500 talented women artisans, natives of the Kullu Valley, India, who are carrying forward the age-old tradition of knitting and weaving. Their passion translates into machine-free clothing that you can wear for seasons, and accessories that bring the authentic flavor of the Himalayas to you and your home.
From engaging the local crafts people in reviving and rejuvenating languishing local practices to innovating and promoting local materials and practices, they are an example of what women-led social enterprises can strive for.
The Woolknitters have also worked with Brands like II-II Clothing, LikeMary-UK, MaRGN, The Hemp Foundation, amongst numerous others as their knitwear and woven garment producers.
